Application and operation of industrial inspection

Advice on the correct specification and application of industrial x ray inspection, metal detection and checkweighing systems for product conformity and quality checking.

WHY USE PRODUCT INSPECTION MACHINES?

Manufacturers need to ensure that their products are supplied as described, whether that is a food product or cosmetics or pharmaceutical goods. In any process errors can occur from the accidental ingress of metal or other foreign bodies or inadvertently produce underweight goods. Consumer awareness has increased their expectations of what constitutes a quality product, standards are heightened. End of line inspection ensures that the product quality standards are maintained, preserving the reputation of the brand and the manufacturer.

It may be that a manufacturer seeks to reduce product "giveaway" of an expensive ingredient, it could be that the checkweigher or x ray machine is installed to control costs.

The applications of inspection systems in industry are as diverse as the products they inspect, one thing is common though, the quality of the inspection is relative to the suitability and use of the inspection system employed. Through the sections below you will be able to see some of the factors that can effect the quality of inspection and be better able to specify the inspection solution best for your specific application.
